Start with the water path and the wall
Describe where water appears, when it appears, whether gutters discharge near the wall, and whether the symptom is surface runoff, groundwater, a plumbing leak, or a foundation condition. Waterproofing should respond to the source rather than hide it.
Exterior work may include excavation, safe access, wall cleaning and repair, a waterproofing or dampproofing system, protection or drainage board, footing-drain work, discharge, backfill, and landscape restoration. Keep each piece visible.

Waterproofing is different from drainage
A French drain or grading change can redirect surface and subsurface water, while an exterior foundation system addresses the wall after excavation. Interior drainage or sump discharge may manage water after it enters, but it does not prove the same source or solve every condition.
An early estimate cannot diagnose structural movement, pressure, mold, sewage, or an unknown water source. Significant cracking, recurring flooding, foundation movement, or unsafe excavation calls for appropriate qualified evaluation before work.
