Materials & Labor Estimator

Separate product choices from installation realities before you compare contractor estimates.

Materials and labor move differently

A construction materials cost estimator helps you count products, waste, delivery, and finish level. A labor cost estimator for remodeling has to consider access, sequencing, demolition, site protection, layout complexity, and the skilled trades required to install those products correctly.

Read estimates in two columns

  • Materials: quantities, grade, allowances, lead time, and freight.
  • Labor: preparation, installation, supervision, coordination, and cleanup.
  • Project costs: permits, disposal, equipment, overhead, and contingency.

Comparing only a total can hide a missing part of the scope. Compare inclusions before comparing price.
